We developed Sample.com for Michael and David Castello.  This was one of the first sites where we started experimenting with Flash headers.  The goal of the mini site was to start getting traction in the search engines, to test various affiliate programs, and to promote other sites in the CCIN Advertising Network.  We did several other projects for the Castello’s premium domains, which I will post about in the weeks to come.

This project was a “Big Mini” with five additional pages of content.  The site was a big success from early on, ranking #2 in Google, and #4 in Bing for the term “sample” without quotes.  The client also specifically requested to rank for “product test marketing”, and although not having any of those keywords in the domain (especially on a new site) makes it tricky, we love a good challenge.  As of now the site ranks #9 in Google and #5 in Bing for “product test marketing” without quotes.  The site also ranks pretty well for other target keywords such as “request free samples”, “clothing samples”, “drink samples”, “cosmetic samples”, etc.

The site is monetized through affiliate banners, and also promotes other CCIN development projects.  If you have ever spoken with the Castello brothers or read an interview, you know they strongly dislike PPC advertising.  It was nice seeing someone stray from the norm, and put the extra effort into affiliate marketing.  This is really the best way to go, but you should constantly be testing new programs to see which will convert best based on your audience.

Beachwear.com is another premium generic domain name we recently developed a mini site for.  Despite being launched just a few weeks ago, it is already dominating the SERPS at the time of this post.  We decided to focus on the following keywords for this project: Beachwear (#4 in Google, #6 in Yahoo), Beachwear Trends (#5 in Yahoo), Fashion Beachwear (#5 in Yahoo), Kids Beachwear (#6 in Google, #1 in Yahoo), and Sports Beachwear (#1 in Google, #1 in Yahoo).  Of course those rankings may go up or down, but that’s where they stand after just a few weeks.

Motorsports.com is a category-killer that receives a great deal of type-in traffic each month.  We recently had the pleasure of developing a mini site on this generic domain name, one that required five extra pages of content to really do it justice. The owner will be adding more content on a regular basis, but he intends to use this mini site to get indexed and ranked while a full-scale development project is under way.

We focused on the following keywords for this project: Motorcycles , ATVs & Powersports , Dirt Bikes & Motocross , Car Racing , NASCAR , Formula 1 , Kart Racing , Truck Racing , and Motorsports Gear .  We look forward to seeing the fully developed web site.

French and Italian wines are highlighted as time honored traditions, and we keep users interested by showing glimpses of the wine rating process, as well as wine tasting tips. Throughout the pages of the site, users are guided towards targeted ads to find out more about vintage wine, buy wine and participate in wine tasting events. Optimized meta tags will help the site reach higher search rankings and gain traffic, while the content will keep visitors coming back.

We focused on the most popular of Cabernet searches, Cabernet Sauvignon , Cabernet Franc and food and wine pairings , as well as Cabernet Reserve . Each of the pages is a knowledgeable source of information on the subject, and is intended to attract users and lengthen visits.
